Our mission

Rebuilding India's nutritional foundation

Sub-clinical deficiencies in vitamin D, B12, iron and folate stay invisible until their effects are hard to reverse. Vitamyare quantifies each one from a blood panel and corrects it with a protocol grounded in FSSAI, FDA and Pharmacy Council standards. No guesswork, no over-supplementation.

Vitamin encyclopedia

All 13 essential vitamins, explained

There are 13 essential vitamins: A, C, D, E, K and the eight B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12). Intakes follow FDA DRIs and ICMR-NIN RDAs. Pick one to see its role, deficiency signs and food sources.

Vitamin A (Retinol / beta-carotene)

Supports vision, immune defence, skin and cell growth. Daily intake: 700–900 µg RAE. Sources: Liver, carrot, sweet potato, spinach, eggs, milk.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

Turns carbohydrates into energy and supports nerve function. Daily intake: 1.1–1.2 mg. Sources: Whole grains, legumes, nuts, pork, fortified cereals.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

Helps energy metabolism and keeps skin, eyes and mucous membranes healthy. Daily intake: 1.1–1.3 mg. Sources: Milk, curd, eggs, mushrooms, almonds, green leafy vegetables.

Vitamin B3 (Niacin)

Supports energy production, DNA repair and healthy skin and gut. Daily intake: 14–16 mg NE. Sources: Chicken, fish, peanuts, mushrooms, whole grains.

Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid)

Builds coenzyme A, central to fat and carbohydrate metabolism. Daily intake: 5 mg (AI). Sources: Eggs, avocado, legumes, mushrooms, whole grains.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)

Needed for protein metabolism, neurotransmitters and haemoglobin. Daily intake: 1.3–1.7 mg. Sources: Chickpeas, banana, potato, fish, poultry.

Vitamin B7 (Biotin)

Supports fat and glucose metabolism and keratin in hair and nails. Daily intake: 30 µg (AI). Sources: Eggs, nuts, seeds, sweet potato, legumes.

Vitamin B9 (Folate / folic acid)

Essential for DNA synthesis and cell division; critical in early pregnancy. Daily intake: 400 µg DFE. Sources: Leafy greens, lentils, chickpeas, citrus, fortified flour.

Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin)

Needed for red blood cells, DNA synthesis and nerve myelin. Daily intake: 2.4 µg. Sources: Meat, fish, dairy, eggs, fortified foods.

Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid)

Builds collagen, acts as an antioxidant and boosts iron absorption. Daily intake: 75–90 mg. Sources: Amla, guava, citrus, peppers, tomatoes.

Vitamin D (Cholecalciferol (D₃))

Regulates calcium and phosphorus for bones; supports immunity and muscles. Daily intake: 600–800 IU. Sources: Sunlight, fatty fish, egg yolk, fortified milk.

Vitamin E (Tocopherol)

A fat-soluble antioxidant that protects cell membranes. Daily intake: 15 mg. Sources: Almonds, sunflower seeds, vegetable oils, spinach.

Vitamin K (Phylloquinone / menaquinone)

Required for blood clotting and bone protein activation. Daily intake: 90–120 µg (AI). Sources: Spinach, mustard greens, broccoli, fermented foods.

The science

How Vitamyare works

  1. 1

    Biomarker profiling

12–18 serum markers (25(OH)D, B12, ferritin, RBC folate, zinc, hs-CRP) from one blood draw at an NABL-accredited lab.

  2. 2

    Gap analysis

Results are compared with evidence-based ranges, adjusted for age, sex, diet, MTHFR variants, conditions and medication.

  3. 3

    Precision formulation

Single-serving sachets in bioactive forms, with known conflicts designed out: no calcium with iron, zinc balanced with copper, folate paired with B12.

  4. 4

    Ongoing monitoring

Regular reviews step doses down as levels normalise, staying under upper limits, with adverse events escalated to FSSAI and CDSCO.

Roadmap

From research to national rollout

Four stages, each gated by a regulatory milestone.

  1. 01In progress

    Clinical foundation

Biomarker panel and reference ranges built on ICMR-NIN 2020 and NFHS-5 data, using only consented, anonymised records under the DPDP Act.

    Gate: FSSAI review

  2. 02Next

    Product architecture

Personalised formulations under the FSSAI Health Supplements and Nutraceuticals Regulations 2022, each batch with a third-party certificate of analysis.

    Gate: FSSAI registration

  3. 03Planned

    Clinical pilot

A 12-week controlled pilot tracking 25(OH)D, B12, haemoglobin and folate, registered with CTRI.

    Gate: CTRI registration

  4. 04Planned

    National launch

Direct-to-consumer and clinic channels, tier-1 and tier-2 cities first, with pharmacovigilance live before first shipment.

    Gate: Safety reporting live

The opportunity

Supplements should start with a measurement

Most supplementation in India is self-directed and untested. Vitamyare closes that gap with a regulatory-first, data-driven approach.

FAQ

Common questions

What is VitamyCare?

VitamyCare is a precision nutrition company in India that personalises vitamin and mineral supplementation from blood biomarker results, within FSSAI and FDA safety limits.

How many vitamins are there?

There are 13 essential vitamins: A, C, D, E, K and the eight B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 and B12). Four are fat-soluble (A, D, E, K) and nine are water-soluble.

Which vitamin deficiencies are most common in India?

Vitamin D, vitamin B12, iron (a mineral) and folate are the most common gaps. Studies cited by VitamyCare indicate about 73% vitamin D deficiency and 47% sub-clinical B12 deficiency.

Should I take vitamins without a blood test?

A blood test shows which nutrients you actually lack, which avoids both under- and over-supplementation. VitamyCare bases doses on your results and a pharmacist reviews each protocol.

Is this medical advice?

No. The information is educational. Consult a qualified doctor for any medical condition, pregnancy, or if you take regular medication.
